Freedom without socialist society is only freedom to starve; struggling alone to battle the elements contrived by capitalist marketeering. All of us must contribute to the welfare of all in order to overcome a hand-to-mouth existence. But in capitalist society the individual is left to rot as the ‘market’ decides. That fact alone makes socialist society necessary, and I believe it will put an end to most criminal activity (most of which festers among those who are left to rot, notwithstanding all that is said to the contrary). But socialist society cannot occur unless enough of us want it to. To quote W. E.
